Angel Fund Donations

May 27, 2026—The intent of the Angel Fund is to simply make a child's world a little better.

The Angel Fund is a discretionary fund that will be shared with every elementary school in Regina Public Schools. The donated funds will be given to school administration to support various food initiatives, such as creating school pantries, supporting nutrition budgets, and allowing all students to participate in special food days. In addition, school staff may use these discretionary funds to support children with other areas of need.

The concept of the Angel Fund was created through partnership with community members, Regina Public Schools, Regina Catholic Schools and the Regina Food Bank, and is in place to enhance current programming options and support.

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

MAY 15, 2026 — May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Established in 2004, the day affirms the right of all members of 2SLGBTQIAP+ communities to live freely as themselves in all countries and in all spheres—at school, at work, in broader society and at home. Its date commemorates May 17, 1990, when the World Health Organization (WHO) removed homosexuality from a list of mental health disorders in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). It is a day to celebrate gender and sexual diversity and to condemn the discrimination, violence and stigma that members of 2SLGBTQIAP+ communities continue to experience in Canada and globally.

This year’s theme is “At the heart of democracy."
