SEPTEMBER 28, 2026—Orange Shirt Day, observed on September 30th, is a powerful reminder of the injustices faced by Indigenous children in Canada through the residential school system. It is a day of truth and reconciliation, encouraging all Canadians to learn about this dark chapter in history and to honour the survivors and those who never returned home. Wearing an orange shirt symbolizes the loss of culture, identity, and childhood experienced by so many. By taking time to reflect and educate ourselves, we acknowledge the resilience of Indigenous communities and commit to meaningful change. Learning is a vital step toward healing, and September 30th offers an opportunity to listen, reflect, and move forward together in the spirit of reconciliation.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2026—Trustees, administration, family, and friends gathered at the Conexus Arts Centre on September 16th to celebrate the recipients of the 2025-26 Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP) at its 18th annual ceremony.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2026—Regina Public Schools is inviting residents from across the city to help name a new school currently under construction in the Harbour Landing neighbourhood. The school division wants the community to have a voice in choosing a name that will become part of the school’s identity for generations of students, families and staff.

To be considered, proposed names cannot:

• Include offensive language
• Be the name of an individual, living or deceased
• Include the name “Harbour Landing”

SEPTEMBER 10, 2026 — Regina Public Schools helps students achieve their personal best! Congratulations to the 11 students who obtained the highest academic average in their Regina public high schools and earned the prestigious Governor General's Academic Medal.

SEPTEMBER 8, 2026—The Martin Youth Academy is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment while addressing a variety of individual needs and differences. Students in their Youth Academies become part of a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. Athletes will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a structured environment. Their team of highly experienced and qualified teachers and instructors offer a pedagogical approach to skill development, skill refinement, and sport-specific fitness training built into the school day. Through interpersonal relationships, enthusiastic teachers, and like-minded classmates, Martin's programs foster lifelong enjoyment and participation in sport, health, and wellness.
