APRIL 22, 2026—The Canadian Association of Immersion Professionals (ACPI) has declared the fourth Wednesday of April as National French Immersion Day to celebrate the benefits of learning French. The day highlights the role of French immersion in promoting bilingualism across Canada and celebrates students, staff and families involved in the program. This year's theme is "Our languages, our bond," which refers to the power of French immersion to build connections, foster cultural understanding, and develop lifelong skills.

APRIL 21, 2026—Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22^nd, seeks to highlight and promote efforts dedicated to the protection of the environment and natural resources. It is a day observed by over one billion people around the world in over 193 countries, including Canada!

This year’s theme is “Our power, Our planet,” which focuses on renewable resources. Earth Day Canada is promoting "conscious consumption," encouraging consumers to reduce waste by buying less and opting for durable, repairable items.

APRIL 2, 2026—On April 2, 2026, our global community will come together to observe World Autism Day. The United Nations General Assembly declared April 2^nd as World Autism Awareness Day in 2007 “to highlight the need to improve the quality of life of those with autism so they can lead full and meaningful lives as an integral part of society.”
