Planning Begins On New Joint-Use Elementary School

SEPTEMBER 25, 2020 -- On the front lawn of McDermid Community School,  Deputy Premier and Minister of Education, Gordon Wyant announced a new joint-use public and Catholic school to serve the McDermid, Imperial school communities, as well as the Regina Catholic Schools St. Peter and St. Michael communities. The event was emceed by area MLA Mark Docherty. Attendees included members of the Legislative Assembly. Chairperson Katherine Gagne spoke on behalf of the Regina Board of Education, and Regina Catholic Board Bob Kowalchuk spoke on behalf of his board. Representatives of both school divisions' administrations, including Director Greg Enion and Subdivision Four Trustee Cindy Anderson were also present for the event.

New School Announcements

SEPTEMBER 18, 2020 -- On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced a new joint-use public and Catholic school in the Harbour Landing community. The announcement, which took place behind the existing Harbour Landing and Regina Catholic St. Kateri Tekakwitha joint-use school was emceed by area MLA Muhammad Fiaz and included Premier Scott Moe and Deputy Premier/Education Minister Gordon Wyant, among other members of the Legislative Assembly. Chairperson Katherine Gagne spoke on behalf of the Regina Board of Education, and Vicky Bonnell, Regina Catholic Board of Education Deputy Chair, also spoke.

Scheduled Network Maintenance

June 29, 2020 -- Regina Public Schools will be conducting routine network and computer system maintenance and testing on August 5 and August 6, 2020. On these two days, many Regina Public Schools school division office-based applications may not be operational, this includes websites, email and telephone access to the school division office. Please note telephone access to schools will continue to be operational, as may email contact. All services will be restored for business as usual by Friday, August 7, 2020. Any emails during the testing period will be answered as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Disclosure of Privacy Breach in June 2019

June 30-2020 - The Saskatchewan Office of the Information & Privacy Commissioner (IPC) has released an Investigation Report regarding a privacy breach that occurred in June 2019 in Saskatchewan school divisions. The breach followed a  Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF)-commissioned survey asking for student information from teachers.
