DECEMBER 19, 2023 — Regina Public Schools publishes a monthly newsletter that celebrates the accomplishments of students and staff; reports on significant events, programs and community involvement; and highlights the activities that demonstrate our Shared Values of respect, belonging, knowledge and responsibility.

DECEMBER 1, 2023 — AIDS Awareness Month (December), World AIDS Day (December 1st) and Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week (December 1st to 7th) continue to provide opportunities to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and its impacts; to remember, honour and celebrate those who have died of HIV/AIDS; and to support education and prevention activities that seek to counter stigma and discrimination that target people who are living with, affected by or at risk of HIV/AIDS.

According to a CBC Saskatchewan report last year, "Saskatchewan's HIV numbers remain the highest in Canada with transmission rates at more than double the national average."

NOVEMBER 13, 2023 — Statistics Canada reports that according to the 2021 census, approximately 6,300 people identified as Métis in Saskatchewan. Métis Week (November 12-18, 2023) and Louis Riel Day (November 16^th) are recognized annually to commemorate the sacrifice made by Louis Riel to defend the rights of Métis people and to honour Métis heritage, history and contributions.
