Literacy Day

SEPTEMBER 7, 2022 -- The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed September 8th as Literacy Day in Saskatchewan. The day provides an opportunity for communities, libraries, schools and other organizations to plan activities that raise awareness about the importance of literacy. We know that literacy and learning are key to a strong Saskatchewan, including opening doors to employment, better social and health outcomes and active participation in society. The proclamation for this day was requested by the Saskatchewan Literacy Network.

Dear School Families:

Today, we welcomed students back to class with heavy hearts. All of Saskatchewan is mourning the loss of the lives this past weekend. Our heartfelt thoughts go to the individuals, families and communities touched by this unthinkable violence. All Regina Public Schools flags will be flown at half-mast for 10 days to honour the lives lost.
