JUNE 24, 2026—On behalf of the Regina Board of Education and Regina Public Schools administration, congratulations to the recipients of the 2026 Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP) Award. Ten Regina Public Schools employees have been chosen because they have exemplified the Shared Values: I am responsible; I want to know; I belong; and I respect.
They were nominated by someone in their school or workplace and chosen by the Selection Committee comprised of the Board of Trustees. To honour all the recipients, a reception and brief ceremony will be held in the fall of 2026. Thank you to the 2026 SVRP recipients listed below for being leaders among your peers by demonstrating the values that form the fundamental beliefs that guide our school division.
JUNE 22, 2026—Regina Public Schools publishes a monthly newsletter that celebrates the accomplishments of students and staff; reports on significant events, programs and community involvement; and highlights the activities that demonstrate our Shared Values of respect, belonging, knowledge, and responsibility.

Join the celebration today in Victoria Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.! Enjoy a vibrant lineup of activities, including a large Kids’ Zone featuring Inuit games, Red River cart demonstrations, face painting, button making, and more. Grand Entry begins at 10 a.m.
Everyone is welcome—come out and celebrate!
June 18, 2026—June 19th (Juneteenth) is often recognized as a pivotal moment in U.S. history, marking the emancipation of enslaved Black people in 1865. But its significance reaches far beyond borders—and it deeply resonates here in Canada as well.
While Canada is often associated with the Underground Railroad and a legacy of refuge, it’s also part of a broader history of anti-Black racism and the ongoing struggle for Black freedom and dignity. Juneteenth invites us to reflect not only on liberation but on the reality that freedom is a journey, not a moment.
JUNE 1, 2026—Throughout Saskatchewan, June is known as Gender and Sexual Diversity Pride Month! It is a time to celebrate acceptance, human rights and diversity. These celebrations are important because they recognize the achievements and ongoing struggles of the 2SLGBTQIAP+ community, advocate for equality, and foster a sense of community.
In Regina Public Schools, it is important that we demonstrate our Shared Values, including our values of belonging and respect. As a school division, we continue our commitment to ensuring that 2SLGBTQIAP+ staff, students, families, and allies feel included, protected, and respected.
JUNE 1, 2026—June is National Indigenous History Month and June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This month is a time to celebrate the history, heritage, and diversity of Indigenous communities. It is a time to recognize and learn about the sacrifices, cultures, contributions, and strength of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people and to continue the work of the Truth and Reconciliation’s Calls to Action.
As part of National Indigenous History Month, the City of Regina and the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Network will host activities for National Indigenous Peoples Day on Friday, June 19th in Victoria Park from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The day will be filled with Indigenous performers, family-friendly activities, children’s crafts and Indigenous artistry.
Regina Public School Division (RPSD) and the Office of the Treaty Commissioner (OTC) have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening Treaty education and deepening understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and perspectives in Regina public schools.
