Early Childhood Intervention Program Week

SEPTEMBER 12, 2025—The Government of Saskatchewan has officially declared September 14 to 20, 2025, as Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) Week. The week celebrates the programs that support children from birth to school age who have disabilities, developmental delays or are at risk of delays. The week aims to increase public awareness of these vital programs and recognize the dedicated professionals who provide these services to families across the province.

Thank you to all early childhood educators for everything they do!

2025-26 Board Chair and Vice-Chair Acclaimed

September 9, 2025 -- An Organizational Meeting of the Regina Board of Education was held September 9, 2025. Adam Hicks was declared elected by acclamation to the office of Chairperson, effective immediately, and Lacey Weekes was declared elected by acclamation to the position of Vice-Chairperson, effective immediately.

In addition, the Board adopted the following motion:

Suicide Prevention Month and Day

SEPTEMBER 8, 2025—Every day in Canada, 13 people die by suicide. Thirteen families lose someone they love. Thirteen circles of friends, classmates, or colleagues are forever changed.

September is Suicide Prevention Month, and on September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day. This is a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and share hope and support with those who have been impacted.

Post-Graduation Fair 2025

SEPTEMBER 8, 2025—On October 8, 2025, Regina Public Schools is hosting a post-secondary grad fair at the mâmawêyatitân centre at 3355-6th Avenue in Regina from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. We encourage all Regina Public high school students to attend with their families. This post-secondary grad fair will showcase over 60 post-secondary institutions, employers and community organizations available in Saskatchewan and across many provinces. As you navigate the fair, you will encounter a diverse array of programs and institutions, each eager to share their offerings and answer your questions.

International Literacy Day 2025

SEPTEMBER 4, 2025—The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed September 8th as Literacy Day in Saskatchewan. The day provides an opportunity for communities, libraries, schools and other organizations to plan activities that raise awareness about the importance of literacy. We know that literacy and learning are key to a strong Saskatchewan, including opening doors to employment, better social and health outcomes and active participation in society.

Harbour Landing West Construction Begins

August 26, 2025 – The beginning of construction of the Harbour Landing West joint-use school was celebrated at a news conference today on the building site in southwest Regina. Representatives of the Provincial Government, including Premier Scott Moe, Education Minister Everett Hindley and SaskBuilds and Procurement Minister, David Marit joined Regina Mayor, Chad Bachynski to announce the milestone. Regina Board of Education Chairperson, Adam Hicks and Regina Catholic Board Chair, Ryan Bast both also spoke on behalf of the school divisions.

The joint-use school facility is set to accommodate up to 500 Regina Public and up to 350 Regina Catholic students and will also provide an additional 90 new childcare spaces with a target opening in fall 2027. 

Positive Company Culture Recognized By Forbes Canada

August 26, 2025 -- Regina Public Schools has been recognized in the 2025 edition of Forbes Canada Best Employers for "Positive Company Culture." The school division is rated as #1 out of Saskatchewan organizations and companies and #96 in all of Canada following the surveying by Statistica of more than 40,000 Canadian employees. 

Thanks to the professionalism and efforts of all Regina Public Schools employees to centre the student experience, the school division has been recognized on the provincial and national level.
