Nutritious Partnership for Students

January 28, 2026 -- Regina Public Schools’ Seven Stones School, representatives of the Regina Food Bank, the Regina Board of Education and Regina Public Schools senior administration announced a new partnership for the benefit of students and their learning.

The Federal Government’s National School Food Program (NSFP) teamed with the support of the Government of Saskatchewan has provided funding to help feed students and bolster the nutrition programs that Regina Public Schools already had in place. Working to leverage this funding, the school division has been working with the Regina Food Bank to develop a partnership that will maximize the available NSFP funding.

Balfour Receives CWB Donation

JANUARY 28, 2026—This fall, the Balfour Collegiate Welding Program qualified for a CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) WeldSAFE™ grant and received 12 CWB WeldSAFE™ PPE kits. The average value of each kit is $1,200, amounting to a grand total of $14,400 of personal protective equipment.

Each high-quality PPE kit includes a top-of-the-line 3M Speedglas auto darkening welding helmet, respirator, safety glasses, earplugs, Lincoln Electric welding jacket, gloves and Weldready spats.

January 21, 2026 -- The Regina Public Schools Indigenous Education Advisory Council gathered on Tuesday, January 20 for a scheduled meeting. This Council includes Elders, Regina Board of Education Trustees, school division senior administration and staff, and Indigenous education community representatives.

Regina Football Academy Launched

November 19, 2025—Regina Public Schools, Regina Catholic Schools and Regina Minor Football officially launched the Regina Football Academy today at Leibel Field.

Regina Football Academy (RFA) is a new learning and skill-building initiative for Regina-area Grades 9, 10 and 11 students that promotes perfection of football proficiency and successful completion of academic and elective learning requirements.

The RFA program, set to begin in Semester 2 of the 2026–2027 school year, will give students the opportunity to earn high school credits while playing their favourite game—practising and perfecting football skills under the guidance of experienced coaches and educators.

Student-Led Interschool Chess Tournament Unites Regina Schools

October 28, 2025 -- The 2025 Interschool Chess Tournament, held on Saturday, October 25 at the Regina Public Library – George Bothwell Branch, brought together students from across Regina for a day of strategy, teamwork, and community connection.

The event was organized by Sougoto Das Chakrabarty, a Grade 10 student at Sheldon-Williams Collegiate, whose leadership and initiative helped unite players from Regina Public, Regina Catholic, and independent schools. A total of 27 students from 17 schools participated, ranging from elementary to high school levels. Special guests included Dr. B. R. Datta and Dr. Indra Datta who inaugurated the event and City Councillor Victoria Flores who shared some encouraging words.
