Harbour Landing West Construction Begins

August 26, 2025 – The beginning of construction of the Harbour Landing West joint-use school was celebrated at a news conference today on the building site in southwest Regina. Representatives of the Provincial Government, including Premier Scott Moe, Education Minister Everett Hindley and SaskBuilds and Procurement Minister, David Marit joined Regina Mayor, Chad Bachynski to announce the milestone. Regina Board of Education Chairperson, Adam Hicks and Regina Catholic Board Chair, Ryan Bast both also spoke on behalf of the school divisions.

The joint-use school facility is set to accommodate up to 500 Regina Public and up to 350 Regina Catholic students and will also provide an additional 90 new childcare spaces with a target opening in fall 2027. 

Positive Company Culture Recognized By Forbes Canada

August 26, 2025 -- Regina Public Schools has been recognized in the 2025 edition of Forbes Canada Best Employers for "Positive Company Culture." The school division is rated as #1 out of Saskatchewan organizations and companies and #96 in all of Canada following the surveying by Statistica of more than 40,000 Canadian employees. 

Thanks to the professionalism and efforts of all Regina Public Schools employees to centre the student experience, the school division has been recognized on the provincial and national level.

2025 SVRP Recipients Announced!

JUNE 24, 2025—On behalf of the Regina Board of Education and Regina Public Schools administration, congratulations to the recipients of the 2025 Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP) Award. Ten Regina Public Schools employees have been chosen because they have exemplified the Shared Values: I am responsible; I want to know; I belong; and I respect.

They were nominated by someone in their school or workplace and chosen by the Selection Committee comprised of the Board of Trustees. To honour all the recipients, a reception and brief ceremony will be held in the fall of 2025. Thank you to the 2025 SVRP recipients listed below for being leaders among your peers by demonstrating the values that form the fundamental beliefs that guide our school division.

Land Based and Outdoor Education recognition

June 3, 2025 - Thomson School's mamawi kakashihtânânaw land based education program was recognized by the Saskatchewan chapter of the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development. 

The mamawi kakashihtânânaw program at Thomson school was identified as "an innovative project that has helped to increase the capacity for sustainable development in the Saskatchewan Region and contributed to the advancement of the United Nations Decade of Action to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Congratulations to Thomson school staff for this honour. 

Jeff Cappo, Indigenous Education Coordinator for Regina Public Schools, who has worked with the Thomson team accepted the award.
