Parents as Career Coaches

NOVEMBER 23, 2021 -- The Regina District Industry Education Council (RDIEC) is hosting a virtual "Parents as Career Coaches" event that will be available starting on Tuesday, November 30th on their YouTube channel. Information on funding students' education will be provided.

There will also be two $500 bursaries awarded to two lucky Grade 12 students! In order to qualify, parents or students will need to complete a survey on the RDIEC website.

All Student Transportation Cancelled.

November 17, 2021--Due to severe weather conditions, all Regina Public Schools buses and light transportation is cancelled on Wednesday, November, 17.

All schools will remain open. Please contact your school if a student will be absent, we want to ensure all students are safe.

Regina Public Schools Transportation will also directly contact parents.

It is expected that all transportation will resume on Thursday.

Balfour Collegiate Flash Mob

NOVEMBER 4, 2021 -- On September 22, 2021, more than 100 students from Balfour Arts Collective and Balfour Collegiate’s dance and performing arts programs in Regina came together to perform a flash mob. Socially distanced and masked, students in Grades 9 to 12 danced on the school football field to a mix of upbeat and inspiring songs by Canadian artists. They were proud to dedicate this performance to all of the hard-working healthcare workers in Saskatchewan.

For the last two years, I have had the absolute privilege of teaching the Fine Arts Drama 9 rotation as a temporary teacher at Martin Collegiate during an ever-hanging pandemic. As if starting a new career and precarious work during a global pandemic wasn't stressful enough, you can imagine creating authentic theatrical experiences for drama students has been an interesting challenge.
