OCTOBER 24, 2019 -- Representatives of the Dilawri Group of Companies, Conexus Credit Union, the Regina PATS, the City of Regina, Regina Public Schools and Regina Catholic Schools teamed up with the United Way Regina for the launch of a new Attendance Matters video. The video outlines the importance of school attendance and highlights how community partners can play a role in creating a community that supports successful learning.

Shared Values Recognition Program Recipients Honoured

Trustees, administration, family and friends gathered to celebrate and congratulate the 2018-19 Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP) recipients. The ceremony marked the 11th annual event and was held at Plainsview School on October 2nd.  

The event was catered by Scott Collegiate Tourism & Hospitality Pathway students with the help of Chef Dickie Yuzicapi from Sioux Chef Catering and the students’ teacher, Kelley Christopherson. Kelley was also an honouree that evening.

City Leaders, Agencies Commit to Boosting Early School Success

Regina is taking a big step toward improving student success by joining the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (CGLR), a collaborative effort to improve reading proficiency and early school success for children from low-income families.

JUNE 5, 2019 -- Each summer, the Regina District Industry Education Council (RDIEC) works with several community and provincial organizations to offer Summer Skills Camps focused on hands-on learning for students in Grades 7-9. This year's camps will be held from July 8th to 12th.

May 9, 2019 -- Regina Public Schools’ “Laughter for Literacy” raised $79,000!

These funds will support Summer Success Camps, which aim to improve educational outcomes for Regina’s children by building essential literacy skills, while preventing summer learning loss.  This success is a great example of how the Regina community can work together to make a difference and contribute to the learning and literacy success of students.

This is the third annual and successful event held benefiting Summer Success Camps. Thanks to everyone in the Regina Public Schools Community for making the event and the fundraising a success.

Last year, George Lee School's Advo-Kids (kids advocating for kids) sent letters to the Saskatchewan Advocate for Children and Youth. After learning about mental health, the students were determined to raise awareness and advocate for better government response.
