OCTOBER 22, 2020 -- 2020 and is the year of the Métis, and to honour the memory of Louis Riel, this year’s National Indigenous Peoples Day is being held on his birthday, October 22^nd. This day is an opportunity for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Indigenous peoples of Canada.

OCTOBER 21, 2020 -- October is Islamic History Month. Thank you to The ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) Sisters Regina who shared this informative student-made video that highlights Islamic history and heritage, as well as a number of inventions and accomplishment from which all people benefit.

OCTOBER 15, 2020 -- As COVID-19 cases increase in our city, Regina Transit is reminding all passengers to continue to wear masks on public transit. Starting on October 19, 2020, Regina Transit will be denying service to elementary and high school students who do not wear a mask or alternative face coverings while boarding and riding the bus.

OCTOBER 5, 2020 -- As part of its reopening plan, Regina Public Schools developed heightened cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Following best practices and safety recommendations, the school division began to disinfect all surfaces with a product called Vital Oxide. This product, which is misted on to surfaces, kills viruses, including the coronavirus and is safe to be used around children and adults. It is non-toxic and not considered hazardous by OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 2012. More information about Vital Oxide is available here.
