Massey Welcome Sign in Many Languages

NOVEMBER 24, 2021 -- When École Massey staff were looking to make the entrance to the school more welcoming, Vice-Principal Maxine McKenzie-Cox shared some knowledge she received at a conference that focused on inclusion. The speaker stressed the positive impact that seeing one’s own language would have on visitors to any building.

The idea led to a collaboration with Regina Open Door Society, who already had the I’m Glad We’re Neighbours campaign up and running for Regina residents. A quick survey of students asking which languages were spoken at home meant adding other languages (including the ASL sign for “welcome”) to the 10’ by 4’ banner.

Thom Students Reflect on Reconciliation

OCTOBER 26, 2021 -- On Tuesday, October 5th, students in Thom Collegiate’s Grades 10 and 11 Indigenous Studies classes embarked on a journey for reconciliation.

Thom teachers, Elder Frank Caldwell, Indigenous Advocates Krista Sherman and Luke Blondeau, and the students travelled to Standing Buffalo First Nation, the Fort Qu’Appelle Treaty Four Education and Governance Centre and to the site of the former Lebret Residential School to engage in land-based learning and to reflect upon the personal implications of truth and reconciliation.

SVRP Recipients Announced!

June 26, 2020 -- Congratulations to the SVRP Recipients!

Every year, Regina Public Schools honours and celebrates recipients of the Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP). This year is no different. The Regina Board of Education has selected ten recipients for 2020.

These recipients were nominated in the 2019-20 school year by their colleagues, by students, by parents and by school community council members. They were selected by the Board because they exemplified the Shared Values: I am responsible; I want to know; I belong and I respect.
