August 4, 2020 -- Regina Public Schools has just released the Fall 2020 School Re-Opening Plan. Based on the Government of Saskatchewan and Response Planning Team guidelines, the Plan can be reviewed here.
Parents, Guardians and Students please read this letter relating to the Plan from Greg Enion, Director of Education.
AUGUST 14, 2020 -- Driver Education classes for Regina Public high school students will be held online starting in the fall. Students must be 15 years of age to register before classes begin. To register, please review and complete the program information and application form, as well as the MySGI account information found below. Please send the completed application form to your home high school. If you have any questions, please contact your school office directly.
JUNE 26, 2020 -- What a school year 2019-20 turned out to be! We would like to sincerely thank all of our staff, parents/caretakers and students for their hard work, ingenuity, perseverance and, most of all, patience during the last several months.
Updates will be shared closer to the beginning of the next school year, but school staff are scheduled to return to work on Thursday, August 27, 2020, and the first day of classes for students is Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

February 5, 2024 -- Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation (STF) announced that they will be implementing a full-day strike on Wednesday, February 7th.
At this time, Regina Public Schools and teachers are not part of the February 7th full-day strike.

December 20, 2022 -- Due to extreme temperature and windchill, all student transportation is cancelled.
If students will be absent, please report absences to school.Please note that today is also the last day of school before the holidays. Please have a safe and restful break.
Note our procedures below.
If wind chill is colder than -40C, student transportation will be cancelled for those requiring specialized buses with wheelchair lifts. If wind chill is colder than -46C, all student transportation will be cancelled.
April 14, 2022 -- Due to ongoing storm and impassible roads, all student transportation has been cancelled for the entire day. This includes all buses, light vehicles, and charters.
Please bundle up and call schools with any absences.
SEPTEMBER 25, 2020 -- On the front lawn of McDermid Community School, Deputy Premier and Minister of Education, Gordon Wyant announced a new joint-use public and Catholic school to serve the McDermid, Imperial school communities, as well as the Regina Catholic Schools St. Peter and St. Michael communities. The event was emceed by area MLA Mark Docherty. Attendees included members of the Legislative Assembly. Chairperson Katherine Gagne spoke on behalf of the Regina Board of Education, and Regina Catholic Board Bob Kowalchuk spoke on behalf of his board. Representatives of both school divisions' administrations, including Director Greg Enion and Subdivision Four Trustee Cindy Anderson were also present for the event.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2020 -- On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced a new joint-use public and Catholic school in the Harbour Landing community. The announcement, which took place behind the existing Harbour Landing and Regina Catholic St. Kateri Tekakwitha joint-use school was emceed by area MLA Muhammad Fiaz and included Premier Scott Moe and Deputy Premier/Education Minister Gordon Wyant, among other members of the Legislative Assembly. Chairperson Katherine Gagne spoke on behalf of the Regina Board of Education, and Vicky Bonnell, Regina Catholic Board of Education Deputy Chair, also spoke.
August 17, 2020 -- Update for school families about the return to school
Following a Facebook announcement by the Premier of Saskatchewan on Saturday, August 15, 2020, school classes for students will not resume until Tuesday, September, 8th.
More details and updates will be shared by your school division, when they are available. Thank you for your patience.
