AIDS Awareness

DECEMBER 1, 2023 — AIDS Awareness Month (December), World AIDS Day (December 1st) and Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week (December 1st to 7th) continue to provide opportunities to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and its impacts; to remember, honour and celebrate those who have died of HIV/AIDS; and to support education and prevention activities that seek to counter stigma and discrimination that target people who are living with, affected by or at risk of HIV/AIDS.

According to a CBC Saskatchewan report last year, "Saskatchewan's HIV numbers remain the highest in Canada with transmission rates at more than double the national average."

Métis Week and Louis Riel Day

NOVEMBER 13, 2023 — Statistics Canada reports that according to the 2021 census, approximately 6,300 people identified as Métis in Saskatchewan. Métis Week (November 12-18, 2023) and Louis Riel Day (November 16th) are recognized annually to commemorate the sacrifice made by Louis Riel to defend the rights of Métis people and to honour Métis heritage, history and contributions.

Name Your School!

September 29, 2023 - Regina Public Schools will be opening a new joint-use school to replace Imperial and McDermid community schools, as well as St. Peter and St. Michael Catholic schools. This name suggestion will be for the public school. This north Regina joint-use school will tentatively open in 2025.

Regina Public School Division Strategic Plan 2023-2027

October 25, 2023 -- Regina Public Schools’ new four-year Strategic Plan is now available. It was created following extensive consultation with thousands of stakeholders, employees and students.

This Strategic Plan is a guide to Regina Public Schools’ actions and initiatives for the next four years. It is also designed to be flexible enough to incorporate new ideas and opportunities that may help further the Division’s efforts to achieving our vision and will be renewed and updated annually.

Post-Graduation Fair 2023

OCTOBER 23, 2023 — The Regina Public Schools Post-Graduation Fair will be hosted at F.W. Johnson Collegiate on Thursday, November 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, November 10th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We welcome all students and their families to come meet with representatives from post-secondary institutions, community groups and employers.
