2026 SVRP Recipients Announced!

JUNE 24, 2026—On behalf of the Regina Board of Education and Regina Public Schools administration, congratulations to the recipients of the 2026 Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP) Award. Ten Regina Public Schools employees have been chosen because they have exemplified the Shared Values: I am responsible; I want to know; I belong; and I respect.

They were nominated by someone in their school or workplace and chosen by the Selection Committee comprised of the Board of Trustees. To honour all the recipients, a reception and brief ceremony will be held in the fall of 2026. Thank you to the 2026 SVRP recipients listed below for being leaders among your peers by demonstrating the values that form the fundamental beliefs that guide our school division.

Juneteenth

June 18, 2026—June 19th (Juneteenth) is often recognized as a pivotal moment in U.S. history, marking the emancipation of enslaved Black people in 1865. But its significance reaches far beyond borders—and it deeply resonates here in Canada as well.

While Canada is often associated with the Underground Railroad and a legacy of refuge, it’s also part of a broader history of anti-Black racism and the ongoing struggle for Black freedom and dignity. Juneteenth invites us to reflect not only on liberation but on the reality that freedom is a journey, not a moment.

Pride Month 2026

JUNE 1, 2026—Throughout Saskatchewan, June is known as Gender and Sexual Diversity Pride Month! It is a time to celebrate acceptance, human rights and diversity. These celebrations are important because they recognize the achievements and ongoing struggles of the 2SLGBTQIAP+ community, advocate for equality, and foster a sense of community.

In Regina Public Schools, it is important that we demonstrate our Shared Values, including our values of belonging and respect. As a school division, we continue our commitment to ensuring that 2SLGBTQIAP+ staff, students, families, and allies feel included, protected, and respected.
