Celebrating Our School Community Councils

As the School Board Trustee for Subdivision 3 and a parent of two wonderful children within Regina Public Schools, I have witnessed first-hand the incredible impact of our School Community Councils (SCCs), notes Adam Hicks.

Together with Trustee Tracey McMurchy (Subdivision 2), we recently hosted a vibrant SCC Forum, bringing together members from 10 schools across Subdivisions 2 and 3. This summit was a testament to the power of collaboration and shared passion for enhancing our children’s educational experiences.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who attended and contributed their valuable insights and experiences. Your participation and dedication are the fuel that drives our community forward.

Special thanks to Mario Levesque, the welcoming principal at École Massey School, for providing the perfect setting for our gathering.

To the parents, families and caregivers in our schools, I urge you to attend your local SCC meetings. You will be amazed at the difference your voice and involvement can make. Here are some wonderful quotes from individuals attending and expressing their appreciation for just a few of our Division’s dedicated SCC members.

“Staci Filyk, the vice-chair at Argyle School, consistently goes above and beyond. Her commitment to our school is nothing short of remarkable.”

“Martina Richmond is always a beacon of positivity, always ready to lend a hand wherever it's needed.”

“Emma Trobiak exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism. Her years of service at Walker School and in the Rosemont community have made her a role model for many.”

And let’s not forget about Kathleen Eisler. Kathleen’s passion and dedication to the well-being of all students is undeniable. She has been a vocal advocate, often gracing the news with her relentless pursuit of improvements in our schools. Her commitment to making a real difference is both admirable and infectious.

As we celebrate these outstanding individuals and all our SCC members, let us remember the profound impact their dedication has on students’ lives. Thank you for your service.
