Darren Boldt Appointed Director/CEO

AUGUST 31, 2022 -- On behalf of the Board of Education, Board Chair Tara Molson announced that, due to unforeseen circumstances and effective immediately, Greg Miller will no longer serve as Director of Education/CEO.
The Board is pleased to announce that Darren Boldt has been appointed Director of Education/CEO for the 2022-23 school year.
Darren is well known to Regina Public Schools’ staff, students, families, and community partners. His broad range of experience has prepared him well for this new leadership position, with 32 years of service with the school division as a teacher, department head, vice principal, principal, superintendent and, for the past seven years, as Deputy Director of Student Achievement. Darren has been instrumental in a number of key Division initiatives in recent years, including Campus Regina Public, practical and applied arts programming, Adult Campus, elementary school attendance areas, mâmawêyatitân centre, new elementary school builds, and more. Darren has Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees from the University of Regina.

Darren is passionate about providing the very best educational experiences for all students. In doing so, he brings strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making as well as a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful way of working that brings out the best in all employees. His leadership approach encourages, empowers, and expects everyone to lead from where they stand and contribute to the learning and work outcomes of the school division. He is a trusted advisor to the Board of Education and colleague to many across the Division.

Board Chair Tara Molson said, “We are excited as Mr. Boldt assumes the Director of Education/CEO position and confident in his leadership of Regina Public Schools. The Board looks forward to the opportunity to work with him on key Board priorities including our relationships with Indigenous people, diversity and inclusion, mental health and well-being, and achievement for all students.”

“I have built my career in Regina Public Schools and know first-hand the incredible dedication, skill and commitment of the more than 3,000 employees who serve our 25,000 students. I firmly believe that everything we do and every decision we make in Regina Public Schools must have the student at the centre. Our team is strong and ready to face the challenges that lie ahead in public education.” said Boldt.

On behalf of the Board, congratulations to Darren Boldt, and to each and every Regina Public School Division employee in classrooms, offices and workspaces throughout the Division, thank you and all the best for an outstanding 2022-23 school year.
