Emergency Preparedness Week

APRIL 30, 2026—Emergency Preparedness Week is May 3 to 9, 2026, with the theme "Be Prepared. Know Your Risks." This national initiative is led by Public Safety Canada and serves as a reminder to ensure that you have a plan in place to keep yourself, your family, and your community safe during an emergency.

You can take these steps to prepare for emergency situations beyond your control.

  • Know the risks—Focus on hazards specific to your area.
  • Make a plan—Involve your family, so everyone knows what to do.
  • Get an emergency kit—Include items that would be necessary without access to power or water.

To receive emergency alerts via phone, text, or email from the City of Regina regarding threats to safety, such as evacuations, tornadoes, and major utility issues, register online at Regina.ca/notifynow.

You can also download the Sask Alert app to receive emergency notifications from the provincial government.
