Indigenous Storytelling Month 2026

FEBRUARY 2, 2026— Since 2004, Library Services for Saskatchewan Aboriginal Peoples (LSSAP) has coordinated Saskatchewan Indigenous Storytelling Month. Through the month of February, storytelling events are held by libraries and their partners in communities throughout Saskatchewan. The Regina Public Library, in partnership with Regina Public and Catholic Schools, invites teachers and their students to participate in online Indigenous storytelling sessions during February.

For the public, the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild is offering online events via Zoom at 12:00 noon during the four Wednesdays in February.

  • “The Making of First Nations University” by Dr. Blair Stonechild will be held on February 4th.
  • “The Art of Story” by Harmony Johnson-Harder will be held on February 11th.
  • “It’s Hard Being Creator's Favourite: Comedy Writing” by Cheyenna “Shy” Sapp will be held on February 18th.
  • “Tapwewin” by Kealy Cheyenne will be held on February 25th.
