MacNeill School Gives Back!

MARCH 3, 2023 -- This year, MacNeill School’s SRC started a community initiative called “Fill the Fridge.” Each month, one primary and one senior class are designated to bring nonperishable food donations for the community pantries in our city. At the end of each month, the SRC counts, organizes and boxes the donations and then student members, together with their parents, head off to the community pantries to drop off the food items.

How to Make Others Happy

MARCH 3, 2023 -- During February, Albert Community School Eagles were so kind to everyone! Kindergarten students were tasked with a project focusing on how to make others happy.

After talking with both a.m. and p.m. classes, students decided to make something altogether as a group. As a result, they requested that everyone at Albert draw and trace their hands and write messages of kindness on them.

Once the Kindergarten students received all of the hands from the whole school, they made a beautiful heart display to symbolize unity, kindness and positivity.

At Albert Community School, their hands might be small, but they have big hearts!

Jack MacKenzie Career Service Award Recipient

JANUARY 17, 2023 -- Following the passing of Jack MacKenzie on August 22, 2018, the then SPEA Executive immediately passed a unanimous motion to rename SPEA’s Career Service Award to the Jack MacKenzie Career Service Award. With the merger of SPEA and SHEA in August of 2021, the new PHE Saskatchewan Executive immediately endorsed the continuation of this award in Jack’s honour. Jack was instrumental in modelling the physically holistic healthy lifestyle that this award truly epitomizes.

This award has been created in honour of outstanding contribution to Health and Physical Education in the province of Saskatchewan and its schools. The award winner is exclusively chosen by the PHE Saskatchewan Board of Directors and presented at its own discretion and time.
