September 20, 2021--On September 17, 2021, the Government of Saskatchewan implemented a Public Health Order that includes specific directives for schools that support Regina Public Schools safety protocols, including the requirement of mask use in all our schools and facilities.
The following new Government of Saskatchewan requirements help clarify and explain how your school administration will respond and communicate with parents when there is a case of COVID-19 in the school.
SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 -- Congratulations to the Regina Public and Catholic Schools Attendance Matters Committee for receiving the 2019 United for Change Award! This annual award is presented by United Way Regina to a person, organization or group who makes a positive difference in our community. The Attendance Matters Committee is dedicated to increasing attendance at schools and spreading awareness about how crucial school attendance is, especially in the early years.
Superintendents Rick Steciuk (Regina Public) and Stacey Gherasim (Regina Catholic) accepted the award on behalf of the committee at the virtual United for Change Awards luncheon on September 16, 2021, where the 2020 United for Change Award was also presented.
SEPTEMBER 14, 2021 (UPDATED) -- The Saskatchewan Health Authority will be working with schools to offer COVID-19 vaccinations for students born in 2009 or who are older.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2021 -- World Suicide Prevention Day, observed on September 10th, is an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Every year, nearly one million people take their own lives, and there are many more who attempt suicide.
September 20, 2021 UPDATE -- When there is a case of COVID-19 involving a Regina Public Schools student or staff member, the school division takes the following steps. Please note that we also just posted this letter with additional information.
September 3, 2021 -- Effective Tuesday, September 7, 2021, Regina Public Schools will be requiring mask use in all its high schools. This means that masks will need to be worn by all employees, students and visitors at Regina Public Schools’ eight high schools, Campus Regina Public and the Allan Blakeney Adult Campus.
This decision is made following recommendations from Regina area Medical Health Officers and the continued increase in COVID-19 caseload in the Regina area.
August 31, 2021 -- Today, some Regina Public Schools families may have received an email regarding student transportation. This communication was sent by Regina Catholic Schools in error.
For your information, Regina Public Schools shares some contact information with Regina Catholic Schools because both school divisions share several joint transportation routes.
We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience these erroneous communications may have caused your family. We are working to correct the issue to ensure that it does not happen again.
If your child is transported, you will have already received information about Regina Public Schools transportation that was sent out earlier in August.
September 1, 2021 – Regina Board of Education Chairperson Adam Hicks brings greetings to all parents/guardians, students and employees on the first day of classes. Mr. Hicks also highlights some of the plans and what to look forward to in Regina Public schools in the 2021-22 school year.
