MAY 16, 2025—May 18th is National Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Day, a time to recognize and celebrate the vital work of SLPs in supporting communication, connection and confidence across all ages.
SLPs are highly skilled professionals who assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing and social communication challenges. Whether helping a child find their first words, supporting a student in understanding classroom directions or guiding someone through recovery after a stroke, SLPs empower individuals to express themselves and thrive.
In schools, SLPs play a key role in supporting inclusive education. They work closely with families, educators, educational assistants and other professionals to help students access the curriculum, build social connections and reach their full potential.
On May 18th, we honour the dedication, compassion and expertise of speech-language pathologists who make a meaningful difference in the lives of others every day.
Thank you, SLPs, for everything you do—and Happy SLP Day to all of our incredible Speech-Language Pathologists!
