May 17, 2023—For your information, due to the significant smoke in the air and following Environment Canada Special Air Quality Statement recommendations, all outdoor education activities have been cancelled for the day, recesses will be held indoors, and outdoor activity will be minimized.

MAY 17, 2023 — May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Established in 2004, the day affirms the right of all members of 2SLGBTQIAP+ communities to live freely as themselves in all countries and in all spheres—at school, at work, in broader society and at home. Its date commemorates May 17, 1990, when the World Health Organization (WHO) removed homosexuality from a list of mental health disorders in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). It is a day to celebrate gender and sexual diversity and to condemn the discrimination, violence and stigma that members of 2SLGBTQIAP+ communities continue to experience in Canada and globally.

MAY 3, 2023 — Each year, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association awards two $2,500 scholarships to graduating Saskatchewan high school students going into post-secondary study:

Degree Program Scholarship: $2,500

Technical/Trade Program Scholarship: $2,500

MAY 1, 2023 -- Saskatchewan has declared May 1 to 7, 2023 as Missing Persons Week with the theme, "Never Forgotten: Honouring the Missing and Supporting Their Families." Members of the Saskatchewan Missing Persons Partnership (SMPP) focus on prevention, response and supports for families of missing people, including children and youth.
